Wine Guardian offers an expanded range of Through-the-Wall (TTW) systems, each designed to meet specific wine storage needs. Defender
DIY-friendly Exterior Wall Installation

Through-the-Wall systems are designed to be installed between the wall studs in your wine room without needing the help of a licensed contractor. Just cut a hole in the wall, install the wall sleeve, and slide the unit through the opening. The internal condensate re-evaporation system in Sentinel and Defender units means connecting a drain line may not be required. Defender Series units can be installed through an exterior wall and withstand outdoor conditions such as rain, snow, and temperatures from 0°F (-18°C) to 125°F (52°C).

Multiple Capacity Options

All Wine Guardian Through-the-Wall models are available in 1000, 2000, or 4000 BTU/h capacity options to meet a variety of application needs—from small wine displays to mid-sized wine rooms.

Whisper-Quiet Operation

Defender Series TTW units are designed to be the quietest through-the-wall wine cellar cooling systems on the market. The combination of internal sound reduction foam and additional sound attenuation material around the grilles means Defender units can operate at as low as 48 dBA at 6ft (2m).

Integrated Temperature and Humidity Controller

Monitor and control cellar temperature from the integrated controls on the face of the TTW unit, or from your smart device via Bluetooth or NFC. Includes integrated humidistat to allow for connection to a Wine Guardian freestanding humidifier.

Wine Guardian TTWs employ a non-flammable refrigerant with a low global warming potential in compliance with U.S. environmental regulations.

Fail-Safe Protections

The TTW’s advanced fail-safe features protect your system and cellar from:

  • Water Damage. When it detects a buildup of condensation within the unit, the TTW’s condensate overflow switch will automatically shut it off, preventing further water accumulation and leakage that would damage your cooling system and cellar.
  • Compressor Damage. In the event of a refrigerant leak, the TTW’s loss-of-charge switch will turn off the unit to prevent damage to the compressor and further charge loss.
  • System Downtime. When cellar conditions exceed the TTW’s safe operating parameters, the auto-reset high pressure switch will shut off the unit to prevent system damage. The unit will reactivate when conditions return to normal, without requiring a manual reset.

Complete Cellar Control

With a built-in thermostat and humidistat, Wine Guardian lets you monitor temperature and humidity and control temperature right at the face of the TTW unit. Want to control and monitor the conditions from your smartphone, tablet, or smart home device? Not a problem. Thanks to the TTW controller’s Bluetooth® and NFC capabilities, you can connect to your TTW anywhere in your home — so you can monitor your wine cellar wherever is most convenient to you.

Cooling capacity rated at 80°F(27°C) ambient. Many variables affect proper unit sizing, including type of construction, insulation values, amount of glass, residential vs. commercial applications, etc. Proper wine cellar cooling units size should only be determined by using the Wine Guardian sizing calculations.
