Every Wine Guardian unit has a manual reset high pressure switch in the refrigeration system. This switch shuts the compressor and condenser down if the head pressure in the system is too high. It is intended to protect the compressor. Restricted airflow through the condenser is the most common reason for the pressure becoming too high. This can be caused by dust covering the filter or an obstruction blocking the airflow in the duct or grille.
Possible Cause | Head pressure in unit is too high because an obstruction is restricting air flow through the unit. |
Solution | Remove the obstruction in the duct or grille or clean the coil. Then restart the system after resetting the high-pressure switch. |
How to Reset High Pressure Switch on Through the Wall TTW009, TTW018, WG15, WG25
- Turn the Wine Guardian system off at the control panel (local or remote interface).
- Locate the high pressure reset switch which is located within the air outlet section at the condenser side of the system. The switch has a red push button and is accessible by removing the plastic end cover.
- Locate red push button using a flash light inside the condenser outlet section. Reaching your hand inside push in the button to reset.
- Place the condenser side plastic panel faceplate back on.
- Restart the unit at the control panel (local or remote interface).
How to Reset High Pressure Switch on Ducted Units D025, D050, D088, D200, WG40, WG75, WG100, WG175
- Turn the Wine Guardian system off at the control panel (local or remote interface).
- Remove the access panel, grille or duct collar at the condenser opening labeled “Manual Reset High Pressure Switch Remove panel to access”
- Locate the high pressure switch near the compressor (a cylindrical device piped into the refrigeration system with two wires a red button on the top).
- Push in the button to reset.
- Push the rocker switch to restart the unit.
- The thermostat will be flashing temperature with the ! next to it (if the cellar has warmed up past 64F).
- Press and release the top arrow key. This acknowledges the alarm. Temperature and humidity will display on the screen. The temperature side will remain flashing (!) until the temperature drops below the high temperature alarm. If the set point is below the actual temperature, the snow flake will also flash and continue for five minutes. This indicates there is a five-minute delay before cooling will begin. When the actual temperature is lower than the high temperature alarm, it will stop flashing and the (!) will disappear.
