Vintage Cellars proves that precise climate control and advanced connectivity do not need to come at the expense of aesthetics with this residential wine cellar in the hills of Bel Air, California. Preserving the homeowner’s 1,950 bottle collection, this cellar combines elegant Kessick racking, floating white oak cabinetry, and concealed LED lighting to create a luxurious space that perfectly complements the minimalist elegance of the dining room and surrounding home.

To maintain ideal long-term storage conditions within the cellar, the Vintage Cellars team utilized a Wine Guardian SP200 Pro Series cooling system, concealed discreetly above the cellar ceiling. The Pro Series unit was selected for its ability to be integrated with the homeowner’s Creston smart home system, giving him the ability to monitor and control cellar conditions from the same interface as his existing smart home controls. The ducted split configuration of the unit also allowed the cellar designers to remove visual and auditory elements that would detract from the cellar’s minimalist ambience. The air registers are unobtrusively hidden above the racking, keeping the cellar quiet and aesthetically harmonious while still allowing for consistent airflow.

Vintage Cellars has married form and function, creating a wine cellar that will preserve the homeowner’s collection for years to come while seamlessly enhancing the home’s elegant architecture. In addition to serving as a bold yet understated centerpiece of his home, this cellar has provided the owner with peace of mind, knowing that the value of his collection is protected.
