Wine Hardware, a distributor of Wine Guardian cooling units and humidifiers, specializes in designing wine cellars for both commercial and residential use. In this commercial project, Wine Hardware had the opportunity to create a wine cellar for Marciano Estate, an esteemed winery located in Northern California’s Napa Valley.
For this wine cellar, Wine Hardware chose to use natural walnut wood (no stain) for the racking. This helped give the wine cellar a rustic charm and ambiance. A custom rolling ladder was installed to help make bottles stored on higher racks more accessible. This ladder, which was constructed from the same natural walnut wood used in the racking, was mounted on a track that ran along the left wall of the cellar.
The wine cellar has a unique octagon shape and offers a total storage capacity of approximately 3,800 bottles. Notably, the installation of double-pane glass allows patrons in an adjacent tasting lounge to admire the masterful craftsmanship that went into the room’s design.
To ensure long term wine preservation, Wine Hardware equipped the cellar with a Wine Guardian D200 ducted wine cellar cooling unit. These advanced systems are designed to maintain temperatures that are optimal for storing wine over a long period of time.
